Sporting Superstars!

We actively encourage our pupils to take part in a wide variety of out of school sports. We hope you enjoy reading about some of our children's achievements. If you are a Morlander with an achievement you'd like to share with us then please email this into Mrs Williamson. 

Alfie

Alfie enjoys taking part in lots of MotorCross events around the county. He spends most of his weekends attending races or practice events at different tracks. Alfie was very proud to share with the whole school his latest achievements. 

Alice

Alice competes her 12hh Sec A mare and 13hh gelding regularly throughout the year and is an active member of the Cumberland Farmers Hunt South Pony Club. They've been successful in a number of the local agricultural shows and mainly compete in Working Hunter and Showjumping classes.

 

Anna

Anna enjoys cheerleading at Aspire Cheerleading Academy. She recently performed at the may Day festivals. Anna was always awarded Junior of the year at her Razzamataz awards.

Elliott

Elliott took part in a triathlon at Shap in August and an aquathlon at Appleby in September. Elliott is working hard in his swimming lessons every week so that he can join the Tri Club his sister attends. Elliott enjoys running and loves to take part in Keswick Junior Park Run! 

  

Elliott, Ollie and Leo

Elliott, Ollie and Leo all play for Appleby Sharks. They came 4th in the Champions League Cup which is a fantastic achievement for their first season together. 

Emma

Emma attends Stepping Stones School of Dance and has recently achieved her 2nd rosette award in Freestyle Dancing. She really enjoys the classes and learning all the different dances.

Emmy

Emmy took her first dancing exam in Feb and was awarded a Freestyle Rosette One - Turquoise Award. 

George

George won most improved player for U8s 23/24 season of rugby for Penrith.

Ivy

Ivy is current Penrith Swimming Club U8 Champion.

Jack

Jack enjoys attending shows with his Mum and Dad showing their cows and calves.  Before attending the show Jack has to halter train his calf, clip his calf and wash her to make sure she is looking her best for the judge. This summer he attended the Border and Lakeland Holstein Club Show at Penrith and entered the young handlers class with his calf Crossfell Crushabull Strawberry. Jack and Strawberry managed to gain 6th place and were very happy with themselves. He then attended the Border and Lakeland Holstein Young Breeders Club Calf Show in September with his calf Crossfell Bounce Noel. Jack and Noel managed to gain 4th place at this show!

  

  

Jess

Jess has excelled at her dance. She came second in the IDTA National final in Blackpool. She also competed in several individual events and got through to the final round in freestyle. 

Joshua

Joshua plays rugby at Penrith Rugby Club. He also plays football for Castle Town. He has won player of the year at Castle Town and also Coaches Player trophy at Penrith Rugby Club.

 

Lacey

Lacey helps her Mum, Dad and sister showing their sheep and cattle. Lacey takes part in the young handlers classes at lots of local shows. She recently took part in the North West Dairy Shorthorn Calf Show at Weardale Show and managed to gain 3rd place in the young handlers class and 2nd place in the calf class with her calf Moorriggs Sparkle 29.

  

Parker

Parker won Under 7s Player of the Year 22/23 at Penrith Rugby Club.

Poppy

 Poppy enjoys attending lots of local shows with her Mum, Dad and sister. She can often be found winning rosettes in the young handler classes. Recently Poppy attended the North West Dairy Shorthorn Calf Show at Weardale Show and she managed to gain 2nd place and then reserve champion in the young handlers followed by a 1st place in the calf class with her calf Moorriggs Sparkle 28.

  

Seth and Wren

Seth and Wren took part in the Haweswater Half Junior Race in March, 2.5km. Both came first in their individual age categories (age 6 and 4 at the time) and earned a medal.

Tom

Tom enjoys biking out of school time. He has been working hard to develop his skills and recently completed his first jump.
